Cognitive Enhancement

Thank you for your interest in our study!

As part of my dissertation (supervised by Prof. Aljoscha Neubauer) at the Department of Differential Psychology at the University of Graz, we are investigating who is aiming to improve their cognitive performance with different methods and interventions.

If you are 18 years or older, you can participate in this study.

What can you expect?

In the following, you will be asked to answer some questions about yourself and which methods you engage in with the aim to improve your cognitive performance. For each method, there will be a number of questions (e.g., since when you are utilizing this method or how effective you think it is). Depending on the number of methods you use to enhance your cognitive performance, the survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Your responses are highly relevant to our research, so we kindly ask you to answer all questions diligently.

Upon request, we will be happy to provide you with a brief summary of the overall study results. This will give you insights into the methods that other participants use to enhance their cognitive performance.

What happens to your data?

All data will be collected pseudonymously, meaning that a participant code will be created at the beginning of the survey, making it impossible to draw conclusions about your identity. Your information will be treated as absolutely confidential and anonymous. We do not save your IP-Address or any other information that you do not provide yourself. No personal data will be shared with third parties.

If you would like to receive a brief summary of the study results, your contact details (email address) will be requested at the end of the survey. This data will be stored separately from your research data and will be deleted after the you receive the study results.

In accordance with the standards of good scientific practice, anonymized research data may be published in online repositories such as the Open Science Framework. Additional anonymization steps (e.g., removal of information regarding age, gender, or highest completed education) will be taken before publication. For more information on data protection, please refer to the privacy statement.
