The FWF-funded research project ‘Gender and the Bible’ analyses the discourses around gender and sexuality in Roman Catholic and Evangelical groups in Austria and their underlying interpretation of the Bible.

Purposes of data processing:

Your data will be processed exclusively for the following purposes

  • Carrying out the survey
  • Evaluation of the survey results
  • Provision to the research data repository AUSSDA

In AUSSDA, your data will be made available to other researchers in compliance with appropriate safeguards to protect your rights. This is done on the legal basis of Art 5 para 1 lit b in conjunction with Art 89 GDPR in conjunction with § 7 para 1 Z2 DSG. AUSSDA will only provide transcripts to designated researchers for specified research purposes.

Rights of data subjects: The rights of data subjects to which you are entitled in accordance with Art. 15 ff GDPR (in particular to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent) are restricted in accordance with Art. 11 GDPR insofar as it is not possible for us to trace the available data back to you (audio recordings, transcripts). However, if it is possible to identify you personally with your assistance, we will of course be happy to fulfil the rights of the data subject. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.

 

Legal basis for data processing:

The legal basis for the processing of your data is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

Storage period:

Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes. This is usually the case when the survey has been evaluated and the results have been anonymised. The provision for AUSSDA remains in place.

  • I have been informed that the data will be entered into the AUSSDA research data repository on a legal basis and that it may be passed on to designated researchers in a controlled manner, subject to appropriate safeguards to protect my interests.
  • I agree that my personal data (voice, content data, including sensitive data within the meaning of Art 9 GDPR, declaration of consent, contact details) may be processed as explained in the data protection information. This consent can be revoked without giving reasons with effect for the future.
